BHP starts production at South Flank mine
BHP has produced the first iron ore from its South Flank mine in Western Australia, Kallanish notes.
The 80 million tonne/year mine is expected to lift BHP's Mining Area C to become the largest iron ore hub in the world, with a combined capacity of 145 million tonnes/year.
