BHP partners TransAlta for solar power
Global miner BHP has partnered with Canadian electricity power generator TransAlta to commission a new solar farm in Northern Goldfields to reduce scope 2 emissions at its Nickel West northern operations by 12%, Kallanish notes.
BHP says in a statement that the Northern Goldfields solar and battery storage facility is an off-grid mining solar and battery energy storage system and features about 70,000 solar panels across 90 hectares of land.
