BHP enters Tanzanian nickel project
BHP has invested $40 million into developing the Kabanga Nickel Project in Tanzania, with first production anticipated in 2025, according to a release from project owner Kabanga Nickel Ltd (KNL).
KNL says the project’s estimated pure nickel resources total 1.86 million tonnes. The proposed project timeline targets minimum annual nickel production of 40,000t, with life of mine and exploration upside potential of over 30 years, Kallanish learns.
