Bengang upgrades No.5 blast furnace
Benxi Iron & Steel (Bengang) in Liaoning province completed the capping out of its No. 5 blast furnace this week, Kallanish learns from market sources.
The new blast furnace is reported to have 2.5 million tonnes/year of iron capacity with an inner volume of 3,000 cubic metres. Construction began on 5 May this year. China Huaye completed the CNY 520 million ($74m) project in 105 days.
