Benelux scrap prices under pressure amid Turkey silence
Benelux scrap prices, which recorded sharp increases in previous weeks, have come under pressure due to Turkish mills’ low appetite for scrap purchases.
Benelux exporters’ dock prices were mostly unchanged at €360-365/tonne ($416-422) delivered on Monday. However, Monday was a holiday in Belgium and Luxembourg.
Most market participants foresee a softening in prices amid pressure on Benelux scrap exporters arising from Turkey’s weak demand.
