Benelux scrap fluctuates, could benefit from UAE ban
Benelux scrap prices fluctuated last week as a result of different market fundamentals, while supply remained tight.
Dock prices softened slightly at the beginning of the week to below €200/tonne delivered. This was followed by United Arab Emirates’ decision on Thursday to ban scrap exports, which boosted prices once again. Nevertheless, the low-priced EU-origin scrap deal into Turkey at the end of the week has weakened market sentiment.
