Benelux scrap follows sharp Turkish rises
Scrap prices in the Benelux rose on Monday following Turkey’s imported scrap purchases at higher prices last Friday.
As previously reported, Turkish mills bought EU-origin cargoes at $405-407.5/tonne and a US-origin cargo at $415/t cfr Turkey for HMS 1&2 80:20 on Friday. These point to another sharp rise in values as previous bookings were concluded at $404/t from the US and at $386-388/t cfr from the EU earlier last week.
