Benelux scrap falls amid weaker Turkey demand
Benelux scrap prices have fallen amid weak Turkish scrap demand and price pressure. With the dollar at 1.1305 per euro, dock prices on Monday were mostly at €355-360/tonne ($401-407) delivered in Belgium. In Holland, however, they are at €362.5-365/t.
Turkish demand remained weak throughout last week, increasing pressure on prices. Although there was an ex-EU offer at $465/t cfr Turkey for HMS 1&2 80:20, no booking has been confirmed at this level.
