Belgium's Industeel upgrades slab caster, increases plate offering
Belgium’s Industeel has upgraded its thick slab caster at its plant in Charleroi, Kallanish learns from its parent company ArcelorMittal.
The renovation was carried out in collaboration with Italy’s Danieli on the back of an investment of €18 million ($20.1m), the steelmaker says. The revamped slab caster is now designed to produce slabs with a thickness of up to 355mm and a width of up to 2.2m, in stainless, carbon and low alloyed steel grades.…
