Bekaert improves profitability despite Belgian labour tensions

Global wire supplier Bekaert has increased its revenues and profitability during the first half of the year despite a number of headwinds including labour tensions in Europe. In March the company announced the intention to shut its plant for steel fibre for concrete reinforcement in Moen, Belgium (see Kallanish 29 March).
