Beihai Chengde maintenance affects 300 series stainless output
Major Chinese stainless steel producer Beihai Chengde Group is planning an extended period of major maintenance starting on 8 February, according to the China Stainless Steel Council. The steelmaker says its loss-making steel output, the result of falling stainless steel demand and increasing raw materials prices, is behind the timing of the maintenance, Kallanish notes.
