Beihai Chengde commissions stainless CRC expansion
Beihai Chengde Stainless Steel Co. in southern China’s Guanxi province has commissioned a stainless cold rolling capacity expansion. The 600,000 tonne/year Primetals-supplied mill brings its CRC capacity to 1.8 million t/y, Kallanish notes.
Both the 1.2m t/y line commissioned in March 2015 and the new line can roll coil down to 0.3-3mm thick and will produce 200 and 300 series stainless coils. The new line can handle widths of 800-1,300mm.
