Befesa buys American Zinc Recycling for $450m
Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania-based American Zinc Recycling has been acquired by Luxembourg-based Befesa in a $450 million deal, creating a recycling megacompany for the steel and aluminium sectors, Kallanish reports.
The newly combined company will operate under the Befesa brand name. Its total steel dust recycling capacity will be upped by 40%, relative to Befesa’s previous holdings, to 1.7 million short tons.
