Bayi Steel announces huge annual loss
Xinjiang Bayi Steel on Tuesday announced a huge loss for the year 2022 amid multiple impacts from the economy and weak steel demand. Its annual steel production also registered a significant decrease, according to exchange filings on the Shanghai Stock Exchange.
In 2022, Bayi Steel produced 4.89 million tonnes of iron, 5.3mt of crude steel and 5.04mt of finished steel, a decrease of 18%, 17.6% and 18.8% over 2021, respectively, Kallanish notes.
