Bayi Steel achieves 50% BF oxygen enrichment
Bayi Steel, a subsidiary of China’s Baosteel, has achieved a hot blast oxygen content of 50% at its hydrogen-enriched blast furnace, marking the completion of its second-phase testing, Kallanish notes.
After rebuilding the BF in July last year, Bayi Steel reached 35% oxygen content in the hot blast last December and began the use of decarbonised waste gas in June (see Kallanish passim).
