Baowu plans EAF steelmaking base in Hubei
China Baowu Group will establish an electric arc furnace steelmaking base in Dangyang city of Hubei Province through its subsidiary Echeng Iron & Steel, Kallanish notes.
The designed capacity of this steel base is 1.5 million tonnes/year and the project investment is expected to reach CNY 2.14 billion ($299 million). The construction period is reported to be May 2020-April 2021.
