Baotou posts $12.37m profit in 2016
China’s Baotou Iron & Steel returned to profit in 2016 by achieving CNY 85.13 million ($12.37m) net profit. It also saw crude steel output increase by 3.7% year-on-year to 12.3 million tonnes, and commissioned its rare earth steel plate production line.
This year Baotou plans to put more effort on specialised products, fully utilising its rich resource advantages, including in rare earths, Kallanish notes.
