Baosteel Zhanjiang to commission blast furnace in August
China Baowu Group subsidiary Baosteel Zhanjiang Steel plans to commission its 5,050 cubic-metre blast furnace in August, Kallanish notes from an announcement on the Guangdong provincial website. The unit will have a 4.02 million tonnes/year of iron capacity.
Zhanjiang Steel is also building one 350-tonne converter with 3.625m t/y of crude steel capacity for the project. This will also commission in August.
