Baosteel Zhanjiang commissions new steelmaking plant
Baosteel Zhanjiang steelworks, a subsidiary of China’s Baowu Group, has commissioned the steelmaking plant of its No.3 blast furnace system, which began construction in March 2020.
The new plant houses a 350-tonne converter, a 1,650mm continuous slab caster and other supporting facilities. It adds 3.63 million tonnes/year of steel capacity and 3.6m t/y of slab capacity to the company, Kallanish learns.
