Baosteel uses 5G to realise automatic steelmaking
Baowu Group's Baoshan Iron & Steel base utilised its automated steelmaking process over a 5G network this week, Kallanish notes.
Chen Derong, chairman of Baowu Group, started a 300-tonne converter in Baoshan from an operating room 3km away by pressing the control button on a tablet computer. The converter then successfully made molten steel with standard carbon, silicon, manganese, phosphorus, sulphur and other components.
