Baosteel Singapore subsidiary ships 1mt HRC
Baosteel Singapore PTE, an overseas trading subsidiary of Baosteel, has seen its hot rolled coil trading volumes surge 70% year-on-year to over 1 million tonnes since January. Of this, 300,000t of HRC was shipped from Baosteel's new Zhanjiang steelworks, Kallanish notes.
A separate announcement from Baosteel’s website shows most HRC supplied from Zhanjiang is used in oil/gas pipelines. Zhanjiang had an annual HRC capacity of 5.5m t/y earlier …
