Baosteel lights first Zhanjiang blast furnace
China’s Baosteel officially launched hot metal production at its new Zhanjiang steelworks in southern Guangdong province on Friday. The launch marks the biggest geographical shift in the company’s history as well as being the first of the new generation of low cost Chinese coastal steelworks, Kallanish notes.
