Baosteel hot tests Zhanjiang HRC mill
China’s Baosteel has hot tested the first hot rolling capacity at its Zhanjiang steelworks project in southern Guangdong province. The mill was due to commission in March 2016 and the early testing shows the site has brushed off a destructive typhoon that hit just two weeks ago, Kallanish notes.
The 2,250mm hot strip mill will produce the site’s first finished steel products after the first steelmaking was commissioned at the end of September.
