Baosteel Desheng to upgrade steelmaking equipment
Baowu Group's Baosteel Desheng Stainless Steel plans to upgrade its steelmaking facilities in Fujian. The upgrade project is expected to complete by December 2024, Kallanish notes.
The steelmaker will construct three 110-tonne AOD furnaces each with 750,000 tonnes/year of steel capacity and one 120t AOD furnace housing 810,000 t/y of steel capacity. It is estimated to reach 3.06 million t/y of refined crude steel capacity in total.
