Baosteel Desheng completes blast furnace overhaul
Major Chinese stainless steel producer Baosteel Desheng Stainless Steel has completed the overhual of its No.1 blast furnace in Fujian Province.
The steelmaker started the construction of this upgrade project in December 2021, and it will resume production at this furnace in mid-March. Baosteel Desheng's No.1 blast furnace has a 450 cubic-metre inner volume, with the capacity to produce 472,500 tonnes/year of low-nickel pig iron, Kallanish notes.
