Baosteel commissions 5.5m t/y HRC line
Eastern China’s Baosteel completed hot testing of the new 5.5 million tonnes/year hot strip mill at its Zhanjiang steelworks project in southern Guangdong province last week. Despite coming online in a weak market with overcapacity, the mill is likely to shift pressure increasingly on smaller less efficient producers, Kallanish notes.
