Baosteel Stainless closes carbon steel blast furnace
Baosteel Stainless Steel Co., Ltd. closed its 2,500-cubic-metre blast furnace at its flagship steelworks in Shanghai on 20 June, according to local media. The blast furnace was mainly supplying pig iron for carbon steel production, and the division is focussing on its stainless steel facilities, Kallanish notes.
Baosteel Stainless Steel also has a 750-cubic-metre BF in Shanghai, and a 600 cubic-metre BF in its Desheng plant in Fujian. The 2,500-cubic-m…
