Baosteel adds CRC mill for tinplate
China’s Baosteel has commissioned a new cold rolling and temper rolling mill at its Baoshan steelworks in Shanghai. The Primetals-supplied mill is part of the tinplate plant, which recently also installed a new tin-chrome coating line, Kallanish notes.
The 205,000 tonne/year capacity two-stand mill will take material which has already been cold reduced to 0.17-0.55mm thick. It will then roll down to 0.12-0.36mm on the first stand, before temper rollin…
