Bangladesh rebar prices hike on costlier inputs
Owing to rising imported scrap prices in Bangladesh, steel mills in the nation have hiked rebar prices by 7% in the last two weeks to BDT 80,700/tonne ($941/t), according to the state-run Trading Corporation of Bangladesh (TCB).
Producers cite the rising price of imported scrap, coupled with supply constraints, and the latest hike in domestic fuel prices as the major reasons for the rebar price hike, Kallanish notes.
