Ball to form steel packaging joint venture
Packaging giant Ball Corporation is forming a joint venture with Platinum Equity to create a new steel container producer, Kallanish understands.
The 51:49 joint venture will be dubbed Ball Metalpack, with Platinum holding the majority share. Ball will contribute its entire US steel food and aerosol packaging capabilities to the joint venture in exchange for the equivalent of $675m in retained shares and purchase price.
