Baku Steel recommissions seamless pipe mill
Baku Steel has recommissioned its Sumgayit seamless pipe mill following an extensive overhaul, Kallanish learns from the Azerbaijani steelmaker.
The firm spent $71 million to revamp its melt shop no.2 and the 170,000 tonnes/year seamless pipe mill that produces 48.3-245mm diameter pump-compressors pipe, casing pipe and line pipe. Baku has its own round billet plant that feeds the pipe mill. Pipe is exported to Kazakhstan, Georgia, Switzerland, Romania and Russia…
