Baffinland Iron miners organise with the IUOE
About 800 workers at Baffinland Iron Mine Corp’s facility in the territory of Nunavut have opted to unionise under the International Union of Operating Engineers (IOUE), Kallanish learns from an IOUE statement.
The IOUE Local 793 chapter will officially represent Baffinland’s workers on 1 May. The union has been trying to organise a local chapter at the facility since May 2017.
