AZZ gets big first-quarter sales boost
Galvanizer and electrical services provider AZZ saw a major revenue uptick in its metal coatings segment during the fiscal first quarter, though margins remain subdued, Kallanish reports.
In the quarter ended 31 May, AZZ saw metal coatings revenue rise to a record $115.3 million, up 25.2% from the $92.1m recorded in Q1 2018. Operating margins in the segment fell from 26.7% to 25.2%, but the stronger order book pushed gross profits up 18.4% to $29.2m.
