Azovstal to supply rail to Ukrainian railways
Ukraine’s Azovstal steelworks, part of Metinvest, has started production of 45,000 tonnes of R-65 rail for Ukrainian railway operator Ukrzaliznytsia, says the administration of Mariupol.
These rails are used for laying wide-gauge railway tracks, on main track sections and for the production of turnouts. During manufacturing the rails are subjected to additional heat treatment and therefore hardening.
