Azovstal ramps up steel output in January-July
Ukraine’s Azovstal steelworks, part of Metinvest, increased steel production in January-July. Although hot metal production amounted to 2.28 million tonnes, down by -2.2% on-year, crude steel production was up 2.4% to 2.41mt and pig iron by 7.7% to 2.15mt, Kallanish notes.
In July alone the mill produced 335,000 tonnes of hot metal, 357,000t of steel and 320,000t of pig iron.
