Azerbaijan orders $billion Danieli technology for new steelworks
Danieli has signed a €1.23 billion ($1.27 billion) contract to supply Azerbaijan’s Baku Steel with technology for a new five-plant steelmaking site. This is located in Sumqayit, west of Baku on the Caspian Sea coast, according to Azerbaijan’s economy ministry.
The new steel complex will employ 1,200 people, reducing Azerbaijan’s dependence on steel imports and helping boost its exports, the ministry says in a note on its website. The proje…
