Automotive recovery lifts USSK sales, profitability improves
US Steel Kosice (USSK) raised shipments 3% on-year in the third quarter to 790,000 net tons, as automotive demand rebounded. Averaged realised price, however, was €520/net ton versus €590/t a year earlier.
Raw steel production rose 6% to 873,000nt, meaning capacity utilisation was up to 69% from 65% a year earlier.
