Australian EPA rejects iron ore mine plans
Australia’s Environmental Protection Authority (EPA) has rejected proposals for iron ore mining projects from Mineral Resources and Sinosteel Midwest Corporation (SMC) in Western Australia, local media report. The EPA found that the projects would cause unacceptable damage despite the companies’ attempts to mitigate this, Kallanish notes.
