Australian authorities forecast lower iron ore/met coal prices
The Australian government’s Office of the Chief Economist expects the average iron ore price to erode slowly during the fourth quarter of 2017 before falling to around $50/tonne over 2018-19. The Office also forecasts that metallurgical coal prices will likewise decline over the same period, following an increase in 2017 Kallanish notes.
