Australia boosts US cold-rolled imports in October
US cold-rolled imports appear to have risen in October, Kallanish learns from US Department of Commerce license data.
The US imported 88,116 tonnes of cold-rolled sheet in October, up from 58,466t in September.
The bulk of that increase appears to have come from Australia.
US import licenses for cold-rolled from Australia came in at 9,318t for October, up from 1,432t in September.
In October 2019, the US imported just 2,097t from Australia.
In terms of historical volume, Australia is the number three country-of-origin for US cold-rolled, only coming in behind North American trade partners Canada and Mexico.
