August imports fall 10% in US
Steel imports to the US fell by 10% on-month during August while remaining up 25% year-to-date, Kallanish learns from the American Iron and Steel Institute.
In an analysis of Census Bureau data, total steel imports to the US fell by 10.1% from July to August to 2.767 million short tons. While total imports fell from the prior month, finished imports rose by 1% to 2.102m st.
