Asteel remains in losses in first quarter
Malaysian steel firm Asteel, which has recorded losses since the second quarter of FY23, remained in the red in the first quarter ended 31 March 2024, due to lower revenue and higher finance cost, Kallanish notes.
The firm says in a bourse filing that it posted a net loss of MYR 924,000 ($197,165) in the first quarter as compared to a net profit of MYR 161,000 a year ago.
