Asteel posts wider losses in fourth quarter
Malaysian steel products maker Asteel has reported higher losses in the fourth quarter due to lower margins, Kallanish notes.
The firm says in a bourse filing that its net losses widened to MYR 3.37 million ($710,000) in the fourth quarter, from MYR 2.24m a year ago.
Its revenue for the quarter also slipped 7.08% to MYR 69.03m from MYR 74.29m. The lower sales revenue was due to weak market sentiment and competition from imported materials.
