Asia demand lifts Polish scrap exports, slab declines
Polish scrap exports rose 19% on-year in February to 156,605 tonnes, according to data from Poland’s Central Statistical Office (GUS) monitored by Kallanish.
The most-exported category was obsolete scrap whose shipments abroad grew 8% to 74,394t. The average price of this scrap was PLN 1,085/tonne ($264) versus PLN 1,152/t in February 2019.
