Asia, CIS drive 1.4% July steel output increase
World crude steel production in the 66 countries reporting to the World Steel Association increased 1.4% on-year in July to 133.7 million tonnes, Kallanish learns from worldsteel.
Asian production rose 2.8% to 92.24mt in July. Included in this, China’s output grew 2.6% to 66.81mt, while Japan’s production increased 0.5% to 8.89mt, India’s rose 8% to 8.08mt and South Korea’s grew 1.5% to 6.01mt.
