ASEAN wire rod import market drifts lower
The imported wire rod market remains sluggish in Southeast Asia, Kallanish notes. Trades recently took place at lower levels in the Philippines.
Chinese mesh-grade wire rod offers are prevailing at as low as $520/tonne cfr Manila, Philippine trading sources say. These low-priced Chinese offers are generally believed to be cargoes shipped out from China without the full VAT payment.
