Asean steel consumption to rebound in 2018: Seaisi
The South East Asia Iron & Steel Institute (Seaisi) expects Asean steel consumption to recover this year after an estimated dip of -3% to -5% in 2017, Kallanish learns. The industry grouping forecasts a growth of 7-8% this year and for overall steel consumption in the six main regional countries to expand by a further 6% to surpass 80 million tonnes in 2019.
