ASEAN endures rising blast furnace steel glut: SEAISI
The serious threat of steel overcapacity has arrived in ASEAN as a result of rapid investments in massive steel projects in the region. Carbon emissions from the region’s steel industry will rise significantly because investments in large-scale blast furnace capacity will continue, Yeoh Wee Jin, secretary-general of the South East Asia Iron & Steel Institute (SEAISI), said at Tuesday’s SEAISI conference in Da Nang.
