ArcelorMittal Temirtau restarts blast furnace after repairs
ArcelorMittal's vertically-integrated Temirtau steelworks in Kazakhstan has relit blast furnace No.3 following a revamp. Working was taking place at the time of the incident on 10 November when the mill's vital pipework was severely damaged in a blast.
Following recommissioning, the furnace's daily output will increase to 5,600-6,000 tonnes of pig iron, which the mill plans to achieve in about a month. The works included replacing the hot blast stove…
