ArcelorMittal Temirtau coal mine fire leaves five dead
Five employees of ArcelorMittal Temirtau have died following a conveyor belt fire at the firm’s Kazakhstanskaya coking coal mine on Thursday, the Kazakhstani steelmaker says.
Of the 227 workers present in the mine at the time of the incident, 222 made it to safety. The firm is working with authorities to investigate the causes of the accident.
